The Prints! The Prints!

Hello everyone,

Please forgive the delay in getting these prints uploaded. I am really excited about the variety of images for the exchange.

I have booked the exhibit for October 2014 and will update you on the status of the show when I know a little more. In the next couple of weeks I will also give you a bit ore information on the print studio that will benefit from the auction sales.

In the mean time, here are the prints I have received so far. Thanks so much to everyone who has participated.

If you have any questions in the mean time please get in touch with me either via email or through the comments.

Happy printing!

Print Exchange Deadline Extended and Entry Fee Reduced!

Deadline EXTENDED! Entry Fee REDUCED! Now there is no reason for you not to participate :D

We have decided to extend the deadline for entry to the first International Circumpolar Print Exchange to April 30th 2014 and reduced the entry fee to $20 CAD. It is my sincere hope that we can grow this exchange into an excellent opportunity for circumpolar artists to exchange work and collectively show their prints across the arctic region. As many of us work in isolated areas, I am hoping the extension will allow for any extra time you may have needed to participate. I will be posting all prints on the blog so everyone can see the prints from different regions and get excited about participating!

If you are a gallery owner or part of a print studio and would be interested in exhibiting the first collection please get in touch with me and I would be happy to make arrangements.

So get on with it! You only need 12 prints to participate and you'll get ten back in return! But only if we get enough participants. Make some art and meet your fellow arctic printmakers.

You can download the entry form here.

If you have any questions or just want to get in touch please email me at marcus@luckyjackpress.com.

I look forward to seeing your work!

Call for Entries: International Circumpolar Print Exchange and Exhibition

Polar Geography

LuckyJack Press is pleased to host the first International Circumpolar Print Exchange and Exhibition on the theme of polar geography. Open to any artist currently residing in one of the eight circumpolar countries: Canada, the United States (Alaska only), Russia, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Denmark/Greenland. This is the first exhibition and print exchange of its kind. The intention is to provide artists working in remote locations of the arctic an opportunity to meet other artists and engage in a dialogue about issues pertaining to the circumpolar region through printmaking.

Print Information & Submission Guidelines
Each artist creates a limited edition of twelve (12) prints on the theme using any HAND-PULLED print technique such as etching, wood block, linocut, lithograph, stencil, silkscreen or a digital print that incorporates at least one traditional medium (silk screen and digital print, for example). Your edition must be new work completed specifically for this exchange. You may create more than 12 prints but the first twelve of the edition must be sent to the exchange. The first print is kept and used for exhibition. The second print is offered for sale and the rest are used in the exchange. Proceeds of the sale will be donated to a remote print studio in the Northwest Territories. For the exchange, you will receive a random selection of 10 works by other participating artists.

Exhibitions include:
Gallery on 47th – Yellowknife, Northwest Territories
More locations to be added
